The Indians and Pirates were already going to get to know each other pretty well in the shortened 60-game season, with a home-and-home series of six games lined up.

Now, the two will be the first to play one another, with the clubs announcing Monday that they will meet in a preseason series before the season officially kicks off July 24.

The Tribe will visit PNC Park on July 18 and 22, and will host the Bucs on July 20 at Progressive Field.

The July 20 matchup in Cleveland will give Tribe fans a first taste of 2020 televised baseball, with SportsTime Ohio broadcasting the game. All three matchups will air on WTAM 1100 in Cleveland and the Indians Radio Network.

In the regular season, the Tribe will visit the Pirates from Aug. 18-20 before hosting Pittsburgh from Sep. 25-27.

If you’ve been looking for that Cleveland/Pittsburgh rivalry to rev up, your desires have been answered on the diamond.
