Buffalo Bison 12, Louisville Bats 6

In 2005, Cleveland finally cut bait with 2003 Rookie of the Year runner up, sensation Jody Gerut, by trading him to the Chicago Cubs. After his breakout in 2003, Gerut tore his ACL and could never regain his rookie form. They moved him to Chicago for OF Jason Dubois, who was a pretty well known prospect in the Cubs organization that had a few decent years in the minor leagues. Cleveland thought the trade would help solve their lack of outfield power to help them get over the top in 2005. Dubois only got 15 at bats in 2005.

In 2006, however, Dubois, was in Buffalo as Cleveland struggled into the end of the first half after nearly earning a playoff spot in 2005.

In this contest with Louisville, Dubois was responsible for six of the 12 runs that crossed the plate for Buffalo.

He had RBI doubles in the first and third innings and then a three run homer in the top of the 9th inning.

Dubois only had a .761 OPS for Buffalo. He had 31 homers in a breakout 2004 for the Iowa Cubs, which we now kind of see was fueled by the offensive environment of the Pacific Coast League.

Cleveland granted Dubois free agency after the 2006 season and he signed with Baltimore and unfortunately, he never made it back to the show after 2005.
