CURRENT INDIANS

Francisco Perez (RP, Leones del Escogido): 1.2 IP, 1 H, 2 K – Perez followed up a near-perfect inning in Opening Day (one walk, two strikeouts) with another solid effort on Tuesday night.

FORMER INDIANS

Ivan Castillo (DH, Leones del Escogido): 0-4, 1 K – After getting a hit on each of the first two days of the LIDOM season, Castillo went hitless for the first time in the 2020-21 campaign on Tuesday.

Sandy Leon (C, Tigres del Licey): 0-4, 2 K – Leon is now hitless in two games after missing the Tigres’ opener (He has reached base once after getting hit by a pitch on Monday night).

Gabriel Arias (RP, Tigres del Licey): W (1-0), 2 IP, 1 H, 1 R (earned), 2 K, 1 HR allowed – While Arias’ lone hit allowed went over the outfield fence, he was on the mound at the right time to earn the individual victory in his season debut.

Jairo Asencio (RP, Tigres del Licey): S (1), 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R (earned) – Not a pretty ninth inning, but enough for Asencio’s first save of the season.

GIGANTES DEL CIBAO 9, AGUILAS CIBAENAS 8 (12 INNINGS)

FORMER INDIANS

Melky Cabrera (DH, Aguilas Cibaenas): 1-6, 1 RBI, 1 K – Cabrera fell to the Mendoza Line with this one-hit effort in a marathon contest.

Ronny Rodriguez (3B, Aguilas Cibaenas): 1-6, 1 R, 2 K – Ronny-Rod also struggled at the plate in last night’s seemingly never-ending game.

Jake Elmore (backup 3B, Gigantes del Cibao): 0-1 – On Monday night, Elmore was pulled for Oneil Cruz. Last night, Elmore replaced Cruz in the eleventh (defensive replacement).

TOMATEROS DE CULIACAN 2, NARANJEROS DE HERMOSILLO 1

FORMER INDIANS

Jose Guadalupe Chavez (SS, Tomateros de Culiacan): 1-3, 1 CS – Despite the one-hit night, Chavez is still posting a stellar .405/.488/.459 slash line in eleven games.

JC Ramirez (SP, Tomateros de Culiacan): W (2-0), 6 IP, 4 H, 4 BB (1 intentional), 4 K, 1 HBP – Through two starts, Ramirez has only allowed seven hits in eleven shutout frames while striking out seven, Command has been a concern, however, as he has walked eight as well as hitting a batter last night.

FORMER INDIAN

Michael Choice (LF, Aguilas de Mexicali): 1-5, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K – For ten and a half innings, the highlight of Choice’s night had been an outfield assist in the eighth. Then he got a leadoff hit in the bottom of the eleventh and was ultimately driven in by a homer off the bat of backup C Bernardo Heras for the game-winning run.
