Andruw Monasterio (SS, Caribes de Anzoategui): 0-5, 1 K – Not a great day for Monasterio, who grounded into two double plays and was responsible for five of the Caribes’ 24 stranded runners, tying Anzoategui starting LF Cesar Valera for the game high.
Niuman Romero (3B, Caribes de Anzoategui): 2-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K – Romero now has a .923 OPS and has driven in 14 runs in 35 games.
CARDENALES DE LARA 4, NAVEGANTES DEL MAGALLANES 2
Carlos Rivero (3B, Cardenales de Lara): 0-3, 1 BB, 2 K – Rivero ended a three-game on-base drought with a second-inning walk.
Yonathan Mendoza (2B, Cardenales de Lara): 0-3, 1 BB, 1 E – Mendoza extended his on-base streak to five games, preserving it by way of a lone walk for the third straight game.
Yapson Gomez (RP, Cardenales de Lara): W (3-0), 1.2 IP, perfect, 1 K – Gomez has averaged a relief win every sixth outing this season (three in 18 games).
Anthony Vizcaya (RP, Navegantes del Magallanes): 1.1 IP, 1 H, 2 K, 2 HBP – A solid outing aside from plunking two guys in a row.
AGUILAS CIBAENAS 5, TOROS DEL ESTE 1 (AGUILAS WIN SERIES 4-3)
Anthony Gose (RP, Toros del Este): 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB (intentional), 1 K – Gose rebounded from allowing two runs on as many hits in two-thirds of an inning on Thursday, but it wasn’t enough to continue the Toros’ season.
Abraham Almonte (CF, Toros del Este): 1-3, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB – If this how Almonte’s LIDOM season ends, it wraps up on a high note.
Yasiel Puig (DH, Toros del Este): 1-4, 1 K – In 12 games between the regular season and semifinals, Puig in 9-for-38 (.237) with four extra-base hits (all doubles for a .342 slugging percentage), ten walks (.408 on-base percentage, including a hit-by-pitch), and three RBI.
Melky Cabrera (starting LF, Aguilas Cibaenas): 0-4 – Cabrera slashed .192/.192/.346 in the semifinals, a result of only going 5-for-26 but getting a double and homer in those five hits.
Robel Garcia (2B, Aguilas Cibaenas): 0-4, 3 K – Garcia also struggled in the clinching game, but still finished the series with a .304/.360/.478 slash and five RBI.
CAIMANES DE BARRANQUILLA 4, TIGRES DE CARTAGENA 2
Audy Ciriaco (3B, Caimanes de Barranquilla): 1-4, 1 RBI – Ciriaco’s sixth-inning single tied the game at two runs apoece after the Tigres had taken the lead in the bottom of the third.
Sandy Leon (C, Caimanes de Barranquilla): 0-3, 1 HBP – Yes, Leon got on base. However, not in the way he probably wanted to.

SULTANES DE MONTERREY 7, AGUILAS DE MEXICALI 2 (MONTERREY WINS SERIES 4-2)
Jeff Johnson (RP, Sultanes de Monterrey): 1 IP, perfect – Johnson pitched a perfect ninth to secure a spot in the semifinals for the Sultanes.
TOMATEROS DE CULIACAN 4, ALGONODEROS DE GUASAVE 3 (CULIACAN WINS SERIES 4-2)
Jose Guadalupe Chavez (SS, Tomateros de Culiacan): 1-5, 1 2B, 2 K – Chavez finishes the quarterfinals with a .346/.370/.577 slash line.
While no former Indians played in the other two games. the Yaquis de Obregon and Naranjeros de Hermosillo also won their series on Saturday night to set the semifinalists. Thus means that, as of now, only the two players listed above and JC Ramirez of the Tomateros are on teams still in the LMP postseason. That said, this could change with the Refuerzo Draft.
