Triple-A – Columbus Clippers 5, Toledo Mud Hens 4
Double-A – Akron RubberDucks 3, Bowie Baysox 2
High-A – Lake County Captains 4, West Michigan Whitecaps 2
Low-A – Fredericksburg Nationals 3, Lynchburg Hillcats 2
Alex Call (Akron, CF): 1-3, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB – Call scored two of the RubberDucks’ three runs, including the ultimately game-winning tally, in an all-around solid effort representative of a season in which he has slashed .351/.422/.568 with 15 extra-base hits (10 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR), 21 RBI, and ten stolen bases in eleven attempts.
Will Brennan (Lake County, CF): 1-4, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K – On a night with no multi-hit or multi-run efforts for the Captains, not to mention no RBI (all the runs scored on a two errors – including one of the three-run variety – by the Whitecaps), it seems like a good time to check in on Brennan’s stellar season. He is now slashing .322/.394/.517 with 20 RBI in 31 games.
Andres Gimenez (Columbus, 2B): 2-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI – Combined with his home run on Sunday, Gimenez has ten total bases in his last two games.
BEST OF THE REST
Connor Marabell (Columbus, LF): 2-3, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB – Marabell had the other multi-hit performance for the Clippers on Tuesday, with the second hit being especially important (walk-off line drive double to right to score pinch runner Gavin Collins).
Justin Garza (Columbus, RP): W (1-0), 1.1 IP, 1 BB, 3 K – Garza further improved his ERA to 0.47 en route to his first individual victory of the season.
Oscar Gonzalez (Akron, DH): 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K – Gonzalez drove in the eventual game-winning run in the sixth inning for his 25th RBI of the season (in 32 games).
Chris Roller (Akron, LF): 2-3, 1 RBI, 1 HBP – Roller has also been impressive in the RBI department, with 13 in 18 games played this season.
Aaron Pinto (Akron, RP): H (1), 3 IP, 1 BB, 6 K – Pinto replicated his May 25 stat line exactly for his co-best outing of the season. In case you;re wondering, his K:BB ratio is now 37:8!
Francisco Perez (Akron, RP): S (2), 1 IP, 1 BB, 1 K – Perez’s ratio is even more impressive at 40:8!
Hunter Gaddis (Lake County, SP): ND, 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R (1 earned), 7 K – Gaddis’ stellar start came a fter a trio of outings in which he allowed a rio of runs in each.
Tim Herrin (Lake County, RP): 3 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 K – Herrin’s strikeout total now stands at 32 in 24.2 innings (11.68 K/9).
Alec Wisely (Lake County, RP): W (1-0), 1 IP, perfect, 1 K – Wisely’s perfect top of the ninth kept the game close enough for the Captains to win the game in the bottom of the frame on the aforementioned rare three-run gaffe.
Angel Martinez (Lynchburg, SS): 3-4, 1 K, 1 E – Martinez’s three hits was his most since his four-hit season debut on May 5 (also against the Nationals, albeit in Lynchburg).
Will Bartlett (Lynchburg, 1B): 2-4, 2 R – Bartlett’s two runs were not enough to earn the Hillcats the victory and the Indians organization the sweep.
Daritzon Feliz (Lynchburg, RP): 3.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R (earned), 1 BB, 4 K, 1 HR allowed – Feliz’s solid outing looks a little worse in the box score due to one bad pitch.
