The Dominican League is swinging back into action after several postponements due to the virus. The Mexican League was also busy on Wednesday. The IBI’s Daniel Sherriff takes you Around the Farm.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE (LIDOM)

Leones del Escogido 4, Estrellas Orientales 2

FORMER INDIANS

Ivan Castillo (2B, Leones del Escogido) – 1-4, 1 BB, 2 RBI – Castillo showed good patience at the plate as he worked a bases-loaded walk in the second inning to put Leones del Escogido up by two runs. He then helped give his team some cushion in the ninth inning when he brought home another run via a fielder’s choice.

Francisco Mejia (C, Estrellas Orientales) – 1-4, 2 SO – Mejia picked up a hit in the bottom of the fourth inning to represent the tying run but was erased on a double play shortly after.

Toros del Este 1, Aguilas Cibaenas 2 (10)

FORMER INDIANS

Ronny Rodriguez (3B-2B, Aguilas Cibaenas) – 0-4, 2 SO – Ronny-Rod had two opportunities to put Aguilas Cibaenas in the lead. The first one came in the seventh inning where he had a runner at second base with just one out but ended up striking out. Rodriguez then got the chance to walk things off in the ninth with a runner but couldn’t come through and went down swinging again.

Robel Garcia (DH, Aguilas Cibaenas) – 0-2, 2 BB, 1 SO – Garcia didn’t get a hit but did still found ways to get on base. His slow start continues as he’s sporting just a .143 batting average.

MEXICAN PACIFIC LEAGUE (LMP)

Aguilas de Mexicali 9, Sultanes de Monterrey 2

FORMER INDIAN

Michael Choice (LF, Aguilas de Mexicali) – 1-4, 1 R – Choice’s lone hit of the game came in the second inning. The left fielder singled on a ground ball to right field to put his teammate in scoring position at third base and Aguilas de Mexicali took the first lead on a sac fly to left field.

Mayos de Navojoa 10, Charros de Jalisco 11

FORMER INDIAN

Brennan Bernardino (RP, Charros de Jalisco) – 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R/ER, 2 BB, 3 SO – After Mayos de Navojoa tied the game in the eighth inning the southpaw came on with two outs and the go-ahead runner at third base. Bernardino stranded the runner but ran into some trouble in the ninth inning. He walked two batters and was walking the tight rope but made the pitches he needed to make to get out of the inning unscathed.

Tomateros de Culiacan 0, Algodoneros de Guasave 2

FORMER INDIAN

Jose Guadalupe Chavez (SS, Tomateros de Culiacan) – 0-4, 1 SO – It was a rare hitless game for the shortstop. Chavez is still batting a robust .367 average through 17 games.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 0, Venados de Mazatlan 3

FORMER INDIAN

Roman Pena (RP, Venados de Mazatlan) – 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R/ER, 0 BB, 1 SO – The righty came into the game with runners at first and second with out out in the seventh inning. Pena struck out the only batter he faced then was lifted for another pitcher.
