HIGHLIGHTS 

Jose Tena (Lake County, SS); 2-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI – Tena began the Captains’ scoring with a two-run blast to right-center in the first that gave the Eastlake nine all the runs they would need and finished it with a line drive single to center to score CF and number nine hitter Quentin Holmes.

Petey Halpin (Lynchburg, CF): 3-5, 1 R, 1 3B, 3 RBI, 1 K – Halpin just keeps scoring runs. Last night was his second multi-run game in a row and sixth in his last nine. During this stretch, he has scored 15 times in 43 plate appearances.

BEST OF THE REST 

Richie Palacios (Columbus, CF): 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 SB – Palacios’ solid effort was the highlight of an underwhelming night at the Corner of Neil and Nationwide.

Will Brennan (Akron, CF): 1-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 K – Brennan is 3-for-7 with a pair of doubles to start his Double-A career.

Bryan Lavastida (Akron, DH): 2-4, 1 K, 1 SB – Lavastida is also off to a hot start at the level, 8-for-20 with six RBI in five games.

Johnathan Rodriguez (Lynchburg, RF): 3-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 K – J-Rod dominated at the plate with a near-carbon copy of his July 28 statline.

Christian Cairo (Lynchburg, 3B): 1-3, 1 K, 1 HBP, 1 SB, Picked Off 1 time – Cairo stole his 14th base of the season in the ninth frame.

Luis Durango (ACL, LF): 2-4, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 K – Durango has scored two runs in each of his last four games and seven of his last eight.

Dayan Frias (ACL, 3B): 1-2, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB (intentional), 1 SF – Frias has driven in three runs in as many games in August after only recording five RBI in twelve games in July.

Junior Sanquintin (ACL, DH): 1-2, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K – Sanquintin’s lone hit of the game was a big one: a walk-off single to right that scored Durango.

Jorge Burgos (ACL, RF): 2-3, 1 R, 1 SB – Burgos, who has reached base in all twenty games he has played this season, extended his hit streak to six with his fourth straight two-hit night and his fifth of the streak.

Victor Soteldo (ACL, RP): 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K – Soteldo pitched a scoreless frame for his professional debut.

Angel Genao (DSL Blue, SS): 2-2 – Genao was perfect at the plate when the game was suspended.

Fran Alduey (DSL Red, DH): 0-1, 1 R, 1 K, 2 SB – Alduey stole both second and third in the bottom of the first.
